Daily Thoughts

Eating The Frog

Brian Tracy popularized the term “Eat that Frog”. What that means is that if you want to truly move the needle day in day out, you should start your day by tackling the hardest thing on your to-do list (and, I hope you do have to-do lists in the first place).

This is why I write these ‘daily thoughts’ posts.

Daily Thoughts

To-Do Lists

To-Do lists are great. It doesn’t matter if it’s on paper, in a native app, or a web app, or a hybrid app (anyone still remembers those? 🙂), or on a blockchain, or… (sorry, got carried away). The important part is that you at least try them out if they’re not a part of your daily routine yet.

This is why I write these ‘daily thoughts’ posts.

Daily Thoughts

What’s in it for me?

Giving without expecting something in return, or having a plan for why you’re doing it, is one of the nicest feelings. However, as a bonus, in the long run, it almost always also opens doors for you.

HODL or GTFO?

With all the recent market ‘developments’, I couldn’t help but think:

Dear #crypto, I’m back to #sportsbetting. There I can at least see and yell at the culprits 🙂
However, in all seriousness, if you’re not buying now, or HODLing at best, then I must conclude you spent more than you could afford, and/or that you really didn’t believe in it the first time around.

Daily Thoughts

Do it!

Today’s thought is not originally mine, but a quote from an amazing (short, beautifully illustrated – I mean, just check the featured image, and thought-provoking) book by, a constantly great performer, Simon Sinek called Together is better:

A vision is like a dream – it will disappear unless we do something with it. Do something big or do something small. But stop wondering and go on an adventure.

Whatever it is, you’ve (I’ve, we’ve) probably done enough of the research already. So, instead of reading just ‘one more’ post, or going through ‘one more’ tutorial, just go and do it. START! Who cares if you fail. Get up, learn!, and try again – just do it!

Self-improvement trap

Self-improvement without gratitude and humility is just another form of feeling superior over others and boosting one’s ego.

Quick tips

How to edit an existing automatic top-up in Revolut?

Setting up an automatic top-up is simple because it’s offered as an option when you, well, top-up. However, editing an existing one is actually not as straightforward as one would expect (yes, Revolut UX team, I’m looking at you 🙂). So, in this very short post, I’ll show you how to edit an existing automatic top-up in Revolut.

First, in your Accounts tab click on the Add Money button:

Revolut - Add money

Second, click on this small icon on the right-hand side:

Revoluti - edit icon

Third, edit the amounts and hit Save:

And that’s it – hope you found this tip useful 💪

Moment stealer

Put the damn phone away when you’re supposed to be having a conversation with someone in person. Some love talking about conspiracy theories and how ‘someone up there’ is controlling them. It pains me to see that we (yes, me too, as I’m not some kind of a no-mobile monk) are letting ourselves be controlled by our own devices, and all that to a detriment to our human connections.

This is why I write these ‘daily thoughts’ posts.

Daily Thoughts

Work harder

Work hard and go the extra kilometer (miles are overrated 😉) even if there’s nothing in it for you. You’ll learn that’s easier to do when you actually love what you do.

Daily Thoughts

Giving up

At what point do you give up?

I’m not thinking about the average “do only what’s necessary” folks. I’m thinking about the people that have the drive. Those that want to “make it” (whatever that means for them).

Is it when you run out of funding, or when you no longer share the same enthusiasm for the vision, or when you start hitting the point of diminishing returns (granted you already have a certain level of what you’re after)?

I want to believe that we never give up – that we only pivot along the way to new (and mostly better) paths.

So, really, giving up is not an option. Pivoting is more than welcome and, in the long run, a sound strategic tactic.
